When the Division 2 boys soccer Fenton district tournament starts next week, the teams in the tournament will be pretty familiar with each other.

Lake Fenton — Not really being a part of a league this season, it was hard for the Lake Fenton varsity boys soccer team to have any serious championship goals during the regular season.

With just two more playing dates remaining in the Metro League varsity boys soccer season, and just one more game remaining for the Fenton Tigers, the championship scenario is pretty easy to figure out after Monday’s contests.

It appears the Linden varsity boys soccer team is putting together some strong play when it matters the most — during the Metro League season. The Eagles improved to 2-0 in Metro play with a 5-0 home victory against the Clio Mustangs on Monday.

It doesn’t matter if the Linden varsity boys soccer team wins or loses, it seems goals are the name of the game on the new turf on the school’s football field.

Fenton — The Fenton varsity girls soccer team needed a victory to lock up the Metro League championship Monday night, but for a good chunk of the first half,  it didn’t look like that was going to happen.
