The Linden varsity wrestling team had three individual firsts en route to a second-place team finish at the Corey Fuller Invitational, Saturday.
Mitchell Kerr (140), Jimmy Roti (152) and Uzziah Delgado (160) earned the firsts.
Kerr won five matches, earning his weight class title with a pinfall win against Three Rivers’s foe Javon Brown in the final. Roti also earned a pinfall win in his final match, defeating Portage Central’s Logan Stuckhardt. Delgado competed against Grand Ledge’s Garrett Kroczaleski in the final, winning a 6-3 decision.
Three others made it to the championship match but had to settle with runner-up finishes. They were Wyatt Gocha (171), Colton Powell (189) and Johnathon Marme (215).
Michael Lescelius (103) and Jaylon Berry (135) took home third-place finishes while Preston Parker (285) placed fourth.
