It would be an understatement to say the first two games of Lake Fenton’s varsity girls basketball team’s 2020 portion of the schedule has gone well.
They went much better than that.
For the second time during the week, the Blue Devils earned mercy-victory, defeating Owosso 73-22 Friday night. The Blue Devils also earned the 40-point continuous clock mercy win against Linden (69-26) Tuesday.
“It was a solid trip and a solid night for playing time,” Lake Fenton varsity girls basketball coach Brian VanBuren said.
The Blue Devils led 15-1 by the end of the first quarter and blew the lead to 45-12 by halftime. The competitive version of the game was effectively over by that time.
Everyone got a chance to play in the contest, and plenty of players had strong nights. Morgan Furey led the Blue Devils with 18 points while Katelyn Siebert had 14 points, seven steals, four rebounds and four assists. Christina Lamb scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a contest she saw limited playing time.
Aubrey Fray had 11 points while Sydney Hammis had nine points and eight rebounds. Kerrigan Howdeshell had four points, six assists and five rebounds.
Lake Fenton (6-2) returns to action with a road game at Holly on Tuesday.
