The Holly varsity girls swimming and diving team came close to earning its first win.

It came down to the final event, and Corunna took first and third in the 400 freestyle relay, earning the tight 91-86 victory against the Bronchos.

Holly captured firsts in four events and placed second in six of the nine individual events, making it a tight competition.

The Bronchos won two of the relays. The 200 medley relay team of Angela Walker, Alison Rockafellow, Caelie MacDougall and Evelyn Wolleson won with a time of 2:22.46, while the team of Megan Hollopeter, Rockafellow, MacDougall and Wolleson won the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:03.22.

Two others earned individual firsts for Holly. MacDougall earned her third first of the meet by winning the 100 butterfly (1:18.93) while Walker earned her second by winning the 100 backstroke 91:24.53).

Wolleson earned seconds in two individual events — the 50 freestyle (28.13) and the 100 freestyle (1:04.61).
