In a battle of third-place teams in the Flint Metro League, the Holly Bronchos and the Lake Fenton Blue Devils competed in the crossover contest.

The results were a split decision.

Holly won the first game 4-0, but Lake Fenton bounced back to win the second game 12-2.

In the opening contest, Maggie Boehm tossed a three-hitter, walking none and striking out five batters en route to her shutout victory. She threw 55 of her 72 pitches for strikes.

Offensively, the Bronchos did just enough to win the game. A Jenna Wylie solo home run in the third inning was the biggest hit. It was followed by a Molly Charboneau walk and a Delaney Jenkinson double, putting runners on second and third. Charboneau scored on an infield error off of Boehm. Holly’s other runs were plated on an RBI-double by Paisley McDougal in the second inning and an RBI-single by Boehm in the fifth inning.

Camryn McMillan pitched pretty well in defeat, striking out 11 batters in six innings of work.

The Blue Devils jumped to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning in the second game and ended up scoring runs in five innings en route to the 12-2 seven-inning victory. Lake Fenton’s run-producing hits in the first were a Parker Beardsley double and a McMillan RBI-single.

Lake Fenton finished the second game with 22 hits. Beardsley never stopped hitting the ball, going 5-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored. Addison Fitzgerald went 4-for-5 with two doubles and three runs while Reagan Barden was 3-for-3 with four RBI and a run scored. Two of her hits were doubles. McMillan also had three hits and drove in three runs while Ava Goss had three hits and an RBI.

Leah Meyers went the distance on the mound for Lake Fenton. She allowed six hits and one walk while striking out seven.
