 The Linden varsity volleyball team had a busy early part of the week and did so to mixed results.

 The Eagles competed at the Brown City quad on Monday, going 1-2 in three matches. On Wednesday, the Eagles lost to one of the defending Metro League Stripes Division champions, the Flushing Raiders.

 On Monday, the Eagles lost to

Croswell-Lexington 23-25, 25-13, 25-13 and to Swan Valley 27-25, 25-19, but bounced back to beat Brown City 10-25, 25-16, 16-14.

 In those matches, Maddy Shier had a big night at the net collecting 17 kills and nine blocks. Emma Mossing had 14 kills and four blocks while Hannah Lewandowski had 11 kills. Defensively, Payton Somers led the Eagles with 18 digs. Lewandowski followed her with 11 digs.

 The Eagles played a four-set match with the Raiders on Wednesday night, losing by a 15-25, 25-15, 25-17, 25-20 score. Linden (2-4 in the Metro and 4-10 overall) had several players have strong defensive nights. Drew Kinney had a team-high 17 digs while Braylin Robbins had 12 digs. Kendall Miller contributed eight digs. At the net, the Eagles presented a solid block with Robbins having six blocks and Miller five blocks.

 Offensively, Miller had 18 assists with Kinney leading the way with seven kills. Robbins had six kills.
