I THINK WE dodged a bullet by not approving the new bike path between Fenton and Linden. With the warm weather, I’ve seen more joggers. They apparently prefer the road to a sidewalk 6 feet away. No sense creating paths that won’t be used.

THE U.S. IS on track to catch and release 1 million illegal aliens. If half are adult and half are children ($139.40/day per adult, $775/day per child; 44-day average stay) that’ll be a $20 billion savings.

TYRONE TOWNSHIP IS mostly a farming community and the feral cats served a purpose. There have been financial losses due to an overpopulation of rodents. Whoever is responsible for the cat killing needs to make monetary compensation for damages caused to the farmers.

I AM HAPPY about the fireworks restrictions. If you love shooting them off nonstop, you need to grow up. If it upsets you, go drive your huge pickup truck around and drink an energy drink to calm down.

FYI — ATMOSPHERIC CARBON dioxide increases every year in late fall as the green foliage that consumes it to make oxygen dies off. When warm weather arrives in spring the CO2 peaks because the dead foliage is decaying and the new foliage hasn’t yet grown.

THERE’S A VERY sick person(s) in Tyrone Township. It’s a well-known fact that people who kill animals for fun move on to humans next. For the community’s safety, please find those responsible for the cat killings and prosecute. My working barn cat was a victim.

THE CAT KILLER of Tyrone needs to be found and held accountable. I have a farm and all my cats are gone. This has caused financial hardship due to rodent infestation and crop loss. These actions are illegal. There needs to be an investigation, prosecution and jail time. The farmers should be compensated.

TO THE PERSON who inferred that nurseries are growing pot. Why would you think the worst of these hard working people? Did you ever consider that they went in debt to build a covered space so they don’t have to carry their plants in every night when it’s going to frost or even snow?

CYCLING IS FANTASTIC, however, when you cyclists are riding several feet inside of the white line, with traffic flow both ways, it gets a bit unnerving. Idea: cyclists should have to buy and hang a tab to say they pay to ride their bikes on the roads. Those tab funds could increase our road funding, too.

CANADA PLANS TO ban single-use plastics.

THE WORLD ECONOMIC Forum estimates that 90 percent of the plastic ending up in the oceans comes from 10 major rivers, and that currently there are 50 million tons of plastic in the world’s oceans. Environmental experts say plastic bags can take centuries to degrade.

STOP USING self-checkout machines. Remember that those machines don’t pay any taxes, the saved money goes straight into the company’s pocket at our expense. Leave your stuff and walk away. If we all do it, they will quit doing it.  It’s time to fight back.

I QUESTION WHICH is worse, Mother Nature’s hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and fires that do deadly damage to structures and humans, or deaths due to murder, vehicle accidents or other human crimes.

OVER A THOUSAND migrants are heading to the U.S. border and, yet again, the ‘do nothing’ Dems are more concerned about their health care, voting rights, and unimpeded pathway (although Illegal) than the issues facing legal Americans such as the elderly, babies, VA vets, and the growing population of homeless. Disgusting.

THERE’S A RUMOR going around that Trader Joe’s is going in at the old Michaels site. Any truth to this?

2018: DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE campaign slogan is ‘Be Better.’ 2019: Having lost, same former candidate constantly comments on Times’ Facebook how people here are backwoods hicks. Well played. Go back to Flint, carpetbagger.

THIS IS IN response to the writer who compared abortions to vasectomy — you had better do some reading.

TO THE PERSON who can’t seem to get over the fact they can’t buy pot in Fenton. The vote was to legalize marijuana, not have a dispensary next door.

I can't remember the last time I even had to slow down for a cyclist on the road that wasn't a 12-year-old on a side street. Not that it doesn't happen, but it seems far-fetched that a tag hanging from the bike showing that they paid their eighteen-dollar fee that year for their license to be on the road would reduce your agitation at being delayed for 90 seconds.
