‘‘Thank you Tri-County Times for the article about our good local police officers. Would love to see more of these life-saving, good newsworthy stories about our police force. I know there’s more wonderful stories and police out there. They deserve their truth be told too.”

‘‘How would one request a speed limit change on Owen Road? The 55-mph limit is too fast considering all the obstructed views and cars turning in and out of side streets. Yet, if you don’t go 55 other drivers try to run you off the road. I’m serious about that.”

***

‘‘When schools reopen, my biggest concern is how will the school, classrooms, teaching supplies be cleaned after each session? At least two groups going two full days each, there is time for a thorough cleaning on the off day. Children are more flexible than we sometime give them credit for.”

‘‘It’s only a stupid comment if you disagree with it. Don’t be so quick to judge, get facts to back up your comments.”

HERE’S WHAT I hate. I hate it worse than I hate a Copperhead snake. You look up restaurant menu prices on the internet. You then go to the restaurant and find the prices are much higher than shown on the website.

NO ONE CARES how many miles you walked, jogged or ran. Stop telling everyone about it.

THANK YOU GOVERNOR, 30 states barely closed, most reopened too early and the U.S. is losing 2,000 people a day, most from that area of the country. Michigan and NY are the only states that have dropped their deaths to near zero per day.

TROLLMAN FOR TYRONE Treasurer. He’s the only candidate that knows how to give 100 percent and cares about the township enough to not waste your tax dollars. Vote for Trollman in August.

GOV. GRETCHEN WHITMER’S thoughtful approach to reopening parts of the state will help us reduce the likelihood of a second COVID-19 surge.

YES, THERE ARE cures for stupidity, one of which is conversation. Through back and forth in the Hot lines, you learned individual rights supersede mob rule. Check the record — your May 20 Hot line clearly suborned individual rights to collective COVID-19 hysteria. Now you acknowledge individual rights predominate. Stupidity cured. You’re welcome.

NO DRAFT SINCE the mid-1970s? Get a clue. As recently as 2016, soldiers and sailors who honorably completed their term of service were forcibly retained and sent back to war under U.S. Government ‘Stop Loss’ policy. Different name, same outcome. The draft lives on.

LET’S BE HONEST: Whitmer inherited a balanced state budget plus $1 billion in ‘rainy day’ funds (thank you, Snyder). Not a single state is in debt due to COVID-19, they all suffer due to Governor’s Executive Orders. It is not the job of the federal government to bail out incompetent governors.

***

I SUPPORT GOV. Whitmer’s unpopular decisions to restrict people and business during the COVID-19 crisis. It is not over yet and everyone should participate by wearing masks and promoting healthy behavior.

***

I THINK IT’S funny how so many of these people writing Hot lines attack and berate the Democrats and then immediately excuse Republicans doing similar things.

SOUTH KOREA, NOW in a second wave of coronavirus due to relaxed practices, quickly brought their first wave down by wearing masks and social distancing without a lock down. So all of you whining that requiring masks is against your constitutional right, use some common sense.

I OPPOSE THE proposed face-to-face teaching for K-5, which is half-day teaching. Why can’t the face-to-face be the same as grades 6-12? The younger children do not necessarily need the day-to-day face teaching. This poses a problem to those who can’t afford day care and must rely on family.

WHITMER FINALLY ORDERED nursing homes to test everyone entering their facilities. These are the most vulnerable people in our society and yet our governor is just now ordering this. I’m so glad the nursing homes in this area were proactive and did this on their own.

THE ORIGINAL COMMENT was ‘Draft - there is none,’ and is empirically wrong. There has been a draft in the past. We still register for selective service for a potential future draft. This isn’t about whether the draft program is good or bad. It is about whether it exists or not (obviously it does).

TAXPAYERS IN OTHER states should not bail out taxpayers in states with inherited legacy debt and those portions of their debt being irresponsible from excessive lockdown.
