Dear Editor,

Late yesterday afternoon checking out purchases at VG’s grocery and preparing to pay the bill, a middle aged gentleman stepped in front of me and inserted his credit card into the reader. He said, “You’re good, I’ve got this.” I was so taken by this act of generosity that I was speechless for a moment. I think I finally stuttered a thank you as he moved away. A couple of weeks earlier as I pulled up to the Taco Bell window to pay for Sybil’s Burritos I was informed that the driver of the previous car (a new white Chevy Suburban) had paid my tab. Those folks are carriers of a condition known as Random Acts of Kindness that I have now caught.
