Wow! It is finally time to start the 2020-21 school year. I hope you have had the chance to relax and spend time with family and friends. The complexities associated with developing and implementing a plan that enables students of Linden Community Schools to have an uninterrupted learning experience has been the most challenging undertaking that we have ever experienced.

Linden Community Schools will start on Sept. 8, 2020, in a remote learning environment. Our Return to School Plan can be found on our website (lindenschools.org). We will continue to communicate with LCS families as updated information becomes available.

Our staff is working extremely hard in preparing to welcome students for the 2020-21 school year. This includes planning for multiple modalities of instruction and engagement. Our building administrators and school counselors are working diligently to make sure each student has the necessary tools for a successful school year.  Our technology department has really been in overdrive these past few months.  Organizing and preparing devices for students, helping teachers prepare for our remote start, and preparing for our students to return has kept them extremely busy.

I want to thank our families, students, and staff during this ever changing educational environment. The start of the 2020-21 school year may not be normal, but our learning opportunities will allow students to be connected, challenged, and productive in their growth and development.  Our vision, “Learning, Creating, Succeeding” will continue to guide our mission of developing all learners to be self-directed with confidence.

Teaching and learning look, sound, and feel different, but one thing remains the same, the Linden Board of Education and all members of our team are committed to unlocking the potential of every student we serve.  As we work together throughout your student’s schooling, it is important to remember that we are a team. If we continue to focus on your student’s growth, together we will make a tremendous impact. Here is to a great school year, and welcome back!
