Thanksgiving week is a perfect time to reflect and be grateful for all our blessings.  I am so grateful for our Holly Academy community.

Through everyone’s efforts, we have just finished 12.5 weeks of uninterrupted face-to-face and virtual learning.  I am so proud of our students, staff and parents for being vigilant with health and safety protocols and prioritizing rigorous academics.

On March 12, we experienced a profound change with the sudden and unanticipated shift from traditional methods of in-person instruction to those that required educating students at a distance.

Basically overnight, all schools and districts had to create a new normal and we forged ahead the best way we knew how. Fast forward eight months, to November, and we’ve learned a lot and continue to learn more every day regarding how to most effectively support students both face-to-face and virtually. I am grateful to all the educators (teachers, support staff, paraprofessionals and administrators) who have worked tirelessly to provide not only academics, but also social-emotional support for our students throughout this pandemic. Whether your child attends a public school academy, a traditional public school or a private school, please give the school staff a “shout out” for all the nights and weekends they have devoted to the learning curve that is now their “new normal.”

 Happy holidays!
