It’s time to start working on your costumes and getting your friends together for this year’s Polar Plunge, Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Fenton Moose Lodge, 2245 Sonora Drive.

The Fenton Polar Plunge is an event where individuals/teams take the plunge into the lake and help to raise funds for the athletes of Special Olympics Michigan. The funding goes to support those with intellectual disabilities so there is no cost to the parents or the athletes.

The Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Michigan event series is presented by Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Michigan.

Timeline:

• 11 a.m. — plunge check-in opens and pre-plunge party. Plunge check-in takes place at the Fenton Township building. Turn in cash and check donations, get your incentives, prepare to plunge.

• 1 p.m. — plunge into Lake Fenton

• After — After-Splash Bash

Lunch is included for all plungers. Drinks and lunch for spectators will be available for purchase on-site. Make sure to pre-register Friday evening at the Fenton Moose Lodge. The event will run from 7 to 9 p.m.

Andrea Rachko, senior director of Law Enforcement Torch Run Special Olympics Michigan, said they brought back the Polar Plunge Series after a year of being virtual and they are looking to grow this event and help to raise more than $65,000.
