Ryan Gonder, Lake Fenton High School director of bands and choirs, learned Wednesday, June 2 that the Lake Fenton marching band and choir will travel to Orlando, Florida next March to perform at Walt Disney World.

This will be the band’s fifth (2005, 2009, 2013, and 2017) trip and choir’s first performance at Walt Disney World.

The theme park will celebrate its 50th Anniversary, dubbed The World’s Most Magical Celebration!

Students are signing up now to attend. The trip runs from Friday, March 25, 2022 to Thursday, March 31, 2022.

When asked what the excitement level was about being selected to perform, Gonder said, “I am thrilled that our students get to perform as a part of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.  What an honor for them, especially after such a difficult year.”

The group will depart via Bianco Motorcoaches tentatively Friday, March 25, 2022. They’ll arrive at Disney’s All Star Music Resort on Saturday. The group is expected to return to the school Thursday, March 31, 2022.

While staying in Orlando, the groups will have opportunities to visit Disney theme parks and area attractions.

Gonder said fundraising efforts are underway.
