The Fenton Township Board of Trustees is clarifying that recycling collection day is Friday, but the week of collection is changing for some residents.

On Tuesday, Jan. 4, the board said a Republic Services postcard confused some residents. It states that their recycling collection day is changing to Friday. However, the collection day is already Friday. The week of collection is changing for all properties that lie north of Silver Lake Road, south of Lahring Road and west of US-23.

This area is currently on the “yellow” portion of the recycling map and calendar, according to a notice on fentontownship.org. This area had their recycling collected Friday, December 31, 2021 as normal, and again on Friday January 7, 2022. It will be collected every other week from now on.

This area will become part of the “blue” portion of the recycling map/calendar going forward.

An updated waste collection brochure, including a 2022 calendar and recycle map, are available at fentontownship.org. Residents can contact the Fenton Township office at 810-629-1537 with questions.
