Beginning Thursday, June 6, motorists who travel Torrey Road through Fenton Township will need to find an alternative route while repair work is being completed on a drainage culvert. The work is expected to be complete Friday, June 28.
The Genesee County Road Commission (GCRC) announced the plans Monday, June 3.
The section of Torrey Road affected is between Crane and Lahring roads. The GCRC will repair an existing drainage culvert, add signage, upgrade guardrail, resurface and add pavement markings to the roadway.
This project is on an expedited schedule and will require a road closure to complete. Residential traffic will be maintained for those living within the project limits and emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass through. All other traffic is asked to use the posted detour route of Lahring Road, North Road and Torrey Road.
