The third annual Hope for the Homeless Charity Golf Outing is set for Saturday, Sept. 26, and organizers from Snuggle Sacks — Resources for the Homeless hope you’ll step up to the tee.
“We are struggling this year big time due to COVID-19,” said Stacy Daul, organizer of this event with her children, Sheridan, Jaxson and Addyson Goss.
Together, they operate this resource and advocacy group for the homeless in Genesee County, Detroit and Lansing metro areas, headquartered in Fenton.
“Registrations are down compared to last year,” she said. Yet the need is greater than ever with the pandemic and resulting economic fall-out.
Funds raised will benefit the homeless in local and metro areas through their resources of Tiny Pantries, which offer access to full-size toiletries, hygiene products and nonperishable foods in communities that need them, as well as homeless survival kits and advocacy for the homeless.
Fenton Farms Golf Club is hosting this charity event, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost is $90 per golfer; $350 per foursome. The deadline to register is Sept. 19.
