Stanley "Larry" Gibson- age 75, of Fenton, died Sunday, August 25, 2019. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton.  Burial 9:30 AM Monday, September 2, 2019 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday, August 30,  2019 from 4 - 8 PM where a Lions memorial service will be held at 7 PM, and visitation also on Saturday from 12 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Fenton Lions Club. Larry was born September 25, 1943 in Flint, the son of Stanley Charles and Hazel Doris (Meoak) Gibson. He was a 1961 graduate of Bentley High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He married Janet Lorraine Freeman on July 7, 1979 in Clarkston. Larry retired from GM AC Delco in 1999 after 36 years of service. For many years he coached Little League, was a “grunt” for the Linden Eagle Marching Band, and was a member of the Fenton Lions Club. Larry enjoyed collecting clocks and model trains, gardening, his fish pond, traveling, reading, and most of all spending time with his family. Surviving are, his wife, Janet; daughter, Shannan (Mark) Lambert of Fenton; son, Joel (Shelby) Gibson of Linden; grandchildren, Rachel Lambert, Ethan Gibson, Matthew Lambert, and Chase Gibson; brother-in-law, Larry Whitman of Davison; nephew, Jared Whitman of Davison; and aunt, Jean Kneeshaw of Davison. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ellen Whitman; nephew, Eric Whitman; several aunts and uncles, and his beloved dog, Grendel. Tributes may be shared at
