The village of Holly will hold a special Planning Commission meeting Thursday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. in the Karl Richter Center Board of Education Room.
The special meeting has been scheduled to review the application for consideration of conditional rezoning at 111 College St. It is open to the public.
The Planning Commission voted unanimously Jan. 22, to postpone the rezoning request for the former school building in order to allow the applicant to present her written request for conditional rezoning from single family residential to commercial.
The owners, Cari Cucksey and her husband, Vince Iafano, purchased the building in 2016. The couple plans to rehabilitate the building into a mixed-use banquet center and boutique hotel.
At the Jan. 22 Planning Commission meeting and on social media, many residents, who live in the immediate vicinity of the school building, have expressed concerns about the parking, noise, increased traffic and the availability of alcohol at the banquet center.
Cucksey said after the Jan. 22 meeting that any liquor would be event-related and it would be allowed under their catering license.
