Fenton Township is having a retirement party for Bonnie Mathis, former supervisor, on Wednesday, Oct. 13.

Supervisor Vince Lorraine made the announcement Monday, Oct. 4. The event will take place at the Fenton Township Community Center from 4 to 8 p.m.

“Due to COVID, we weren't able to give her a retirement party,” he said. “Hopefully, the residents will show up and support the event. Her two daughters put this all together with the people in the township. Hopefully, we'll see a lot of people there.”

Mathis served as a township trustee from 1990 to 2003 and township supervisor from 2003 to 2020. She retired to spend more time with her family.
