At 1:43 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, Fenton police responded to an auto dealership on a report of two stolen vehicles. Through their investigation, an employee determined that an abandoned vehicle they saw on U.S. 23 near Clyde Road had been stolen from their lot. There was extensive damage to the abandoned Jeep Grand Cherokee. Through an inventory check, the dealership also discovered that a Chevy Cobalt had been stolen. The Jeep was recovered but the Cobalt has not. Employees believe the vehicles were stolen days prior to their inventory check. Police will be analyzing surveillance footage from the lot to investigate suspects.
