At 12:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 15, Fenton police were dispatched to a fast-food restaurant on Owen Road to investigate a complaint. An employee told police that the woman, a 30-year-old Swartz Creek resident, attempted to pay for her order at the drive-thru window with a stick of gum. Police made contact with the woman and moved her vehicle to a safe spot. Police suspected she was intoxicated and administered field sobriety tests. She failed. A breath test revealed she was over three times the legal limit of alcohol. She was also driving on a restricted license. Employees told police she also had attempted to pay for her order with a coupon as well as a cigarette. She was arrested and given a court appearance ticket.
