On Wednesday, Sept. 18 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Argentine Township police received a call for a welfare check at NorthShore Market on S. Seymour Road. The caller explained that a man was sleeping inside of a running Ford Mustang for approximately two hours. After locating the car in the parking lot, police observed a man who appeared to be sleeping inside, as well as numerous bottles of Jameson liquor in the back seat. The engine was running, but was in park. After knocking on the window, the officers were able to wake the man. After performing several field sobriety evaluations and a preliminary breath test the man was found to be under the legal limit of blood alcohol content. The man was issued a court appearance ticket for having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. He was released from the scene and received a ride home. The man’s car was impounded for the offense.
