The Argentine Township Police Department is investigating a home invasion, which occurred Saturday, July 10 at a home in the 16000 block of Murray Road.

Police Chief Daniel Allen said officers responded to the home at 2:27 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from the homeowner.

The homeowner had been away and when they arrived home, they saw that the door from the attached garage to the home was open. They walked into the kitchen and saw a man standing there. The unknown man was described as approximately 6-feet tall with short black hair. He was wearing a turquoise hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black and yellow bandana over his face and a red clown nose.

The homeowner told police that they yelled at the intruder and the intruder fled on foot, heading south of Murray Road. The homeowner followed by car, but lost sight of the intruder near Lovejoy Road.

Allen said Michigan State Police, the Genesee County Park Rangers’ K-9 unit, and the Argentine’s K-9 unit responded. Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies responded with their drone with infrared heat sensors. The suspect was not located.

Detectives have been tracking down leads. If anyone has information about this home invasion, they are asked to call Argentine Township police at (810) 735-5317.
