Patrick Norman Uebel, Sr. - age 82, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Fenton, died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 15, 2017. He was born on November 11, 1934 in Bellevue, KY, the son of Norman and Sarah (Phillips) Uebel. He is survived by his loving wife, Elisabeth; children, Patrick (Julie) Uebel, Lynne (Douglas) Watters, and Holly (Robert) Rougeau; grandchildren, Maggie (Matthew) Sabo, Jarrod Rougeau, Max Watters, and Marta Watters. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Doris Rieman. He grew up in northern Kentucky, and graduated from Bellevue High School. He was an outstanding athlete, lettering 18 times in his high school career. Pat graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1956 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was proud to have been recruited to play football for Army by Vince Lombardi; he played for four years, serving as captain his senior year. After serving three years in the Army, Pat worked for Sun Oil Refining & Marketing, retiring in 1990. He was an avid outdoorsman, camping and canoeing in the Canadian wilderness, backpacking in the Wyoming mountains, and cycling across Arizona. In 1992 he cycled solo from Washington State to Maine. He was involved with several Arizona cycling clubs; when not riding himself, he provided assistance to other cyclists with bicycle repair on the road. He was also a skilled craftsman and builder. A private family service will be held in Kentucky.
