Mildred E. Davis

Mildred E. Davis – age 100 passed away peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2020. She was born February 18, 1920 in Alpena, to Charles and Mildred McKenzie. She was later adopted by the Woodards then went to live with her mother's parents, the Smiths at age eight. She married Arthur Wicks in 1937 and had two children including her beloved daughter Gail (M. Herb) Kernen. Millie loved to travel, her sewing, painting, and her collection of dolls and Joseph Original mice. Over her lifetime she lived in MI, SD, and her favorite, FL. She had many employment adventures in her lifetime, which gave her great stories. Listening to her tell her stories was a favorite pastime of her family. She had many interesting pets over the years. Millie returned to MI in 2008 and never quite embraced the MI winters. She was lucky enough to return to FL for a visit for her 100th birthday. She lived at the Holly Woodlands apartments and made many friends there. She was very social and loved being the center of attention. She volunteered at Meals on Wheels until she was 97. She later moved to Fenton Health Care, where she spent the rest of her life. Family was very important to Millie. She was the proud grandma of seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She kept all the letters and pictures her grandchildren sent to her and loved to send letters to them. A celebration of Millie's life will be held at a later date. www.dryerfuneralhomeholly.com.
