Brett Allen Covert - age 57, of Sulphur, LA, formerly of Fenton, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, after battling Covid-19 pneumonia. Brett was born on October 3, 1963 in Cleveland, OH to Mark and Joan Covert of Fenton. In addition to his loving parents Mark and Joan, he leaves behind his wife, Pam, of Sulphur, LA; son, Cory Covert, of Las Vegas NV; sister, Kim McClimans of Davison; niece, Brittney Bemb and family of White Lake; and nephew,Michael Lewis of Birmingham. Brett was a 1982 Graduate of Fenton High School, receiving eight varsity letters in Football, Basketball and Track. He was also a graduate of CMU receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. An avid sports fan, fisherman and outdoorsman. Brett enjoyed spending his spare time building his cabin with Pam in Canada, fishing, or watching his favorite sports teams on TV. The majority of Brett’s working career was spent working in the gaming industry starting at Caesar’s Palace and The Paris in Las Vegas and finally as Assistant Casino Manager at the L’Auberge Casino in Lake Charles, LA. He will always be remembered as a loving son; husband; father; brother and friend. Family was always first to Brett. He will always be greatly missed by all those who loved and knew him. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
