The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is making repairs on the Owen Road bridge over U.S. 23 in Fenton. Work should be done mid-June.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced it will have single lanes closed on U.S. 23 from Thompson Road in Fenton Township north to Swartz Creek (south of Hill road) during the week.

Keith G. Brown, P.E., construction engineer, said they should have the northbound lanes open Friday and Saturday and the southbound lanes open on Sundays, unless they run into some unforeseen circumstances as they complete the work.

To open it up like this they will need to shift traffic at some of the bridges. Those traffic shifts will remain in place over the weekends, but two lanes will be open.

At Owen Road in the city of Fenton, MDOT workers are moving to the middle lanes.  This will include the left through lanes in both directions and the left turn lane.  This started Monday, June 7 and should be completed by the end of the month.

At Baldwin Road, MDOT closed the bridge down Monday, June 7 and it will be closed until the end of the month.

At Grand Blanc Road, there could be intermittent lane closures in each direction, but the second lanes will remain open.
