The Fenton Fire Department was dispatched to a three-vehicle crash on northbound U.S. 23, south of White Lake Road in Tyrone Township at 11:36 a.m. on Wednesday, June 9.

Fire Chief Bob Cairnduff said a 33-year-old female driver from the Birch Run area had to be transported by Livingston County Ambulance to McLaren Flint with a possible broken leg.

The occupants of the other two vehicles were not injured.

The fire department had to clean up vehicle fluids from the roadway.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office took the crash complaint and Corrigan’s Towing towed two of the three vehicles involved in the crash.

Cairnduff said the Birch Run woman was found at fault in the crash and she admitted to looking down at her GPS. Traffic from the lane closure at Owen Road had backed up and when she looked up, the vehicles in front of her were stopping.

The fire department had the slow lane of northbound U.S. 23 shut down for approximately one hour to clean up the scene.
