The Linden High School Class of 1969 held its 50-year reunion at John’s Pizzeria in Fenton on Sept. 27. More than 70 were in attendance from this class of 100. Some of those were spouses.

Members of the Linden High School Class of 1969 held their 50-year class reunion at John’s Pizzeria in Fenton on Saturday, Sept. 21.

From just a small class of 100, there were 70-plus in attendance, according to Christine (Chapelle) Wolfgram.

“We had classmates from Mississippi, Kansas, Illinois, several from Florida, up north Michigan and even our foreign exchange student Margaretha (Greta) Lindholm Speding from Sweden, in attendance,” Wolfgram said.

“The spirit stick” at Linden High in the late ‘60s was brought to life, while the class chanted once again, with enthusiasm, “We’re great, we’re fine, we’re the class of ‘69!”

Emcee Carol (Holtslander) Lowman threw out questions to the audience, which proved to be effective icebreakers and brought on a lot of laughter. They enjoyed songs from Mark Hyde as he shared a few jingles made up long ago.

“Roy Raymond wrote some memoirs of life at Linden High,” Wolfgram said. “His writings took us back to the good ‘ole days.”

Don Neiderer of the Class of 1969 served as the photographer for the event.
