Jeremy David McCallum

Jeremy David McCallum, 43, of Holly, was arraigned Tuesday, Feb. 4 on 15 felonies in Genesee County 67th District Court.

He was initially lodged in Oakland County Jail, however, he was transferred to the Genesee County Jail because Michigan State Police (MSP) allege the crimes occurred in a Grand Blanc Township mobile home park, according to John Potbury, deputy chief assistant prosecutor for the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office.

F/Lt. Michael Shaw of the MSP said this remains an ongoing investigation and if detectives locate victims from Oakland County, McCallum also could be charged in Oakland County.

Charges include 10 counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a victim younger than 13 years of age, two counts of felony firearm, one count of possession of sexually abusive activity, extortion, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Bond was denied and he remains in the Genesee County Jail.

McCallum’s case started Friday, Jan. 31 at 7:10 p.m., when MSP troopers were dispatched to the 11000 block of N. Holly Road

for a runaway complaint. When contacted, the juvenile runaway reported that he found pornographic materials involving children on his dad’s tablet.

Child Protective Services was notified and the juvenile was placed with other family members.

Troopers went to the Holly Village Park home in Holly Village where juvenile lived and made contact with his father. A search warrant was drafted and signed by an on-duty magistrate. The search warrant was executed and large amounts of evidence was located, including sexual materials involving children.

The home was extremely cluttered and the search is going to take a long time, according to the MSP. The MSP cyber dog trained to find different kinds of cyber hardware was used to search the residence.

There were materials in the home spanning over many years, according to the MSP.

The Holly Police Department responded to the runaway call and assisted MSP with this case.
