The community is invited to attend a golf tournament to raise funds for the Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics (FAST). Only 1 in 15,000 children are affected by this disorder. These children are non-verbal, have violent seizures, and need 24-hour care. The event is being held at the Coyote Preserve Golf Club in Fenton on Sept. 7, with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. that morning. Call Brenda Leclercq at (313) 670-6816 for more information. The cost is $125 per person, rain or shine. Organizers have raised $130,000 in six years. Hole sponsorships are available at $125. FAST is a 501(c)3 organization and have seven children with Angelman Syndrome attending the outing this year.
