Anyone in need of a hot meal is welcome to attend the fifth annual Thanksgiving CommUNITY Lunch on Thursday, Nov. 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Barn, at 715 Torrey Rd. in Fenton, along with the Warda Foundation, are hosting the free lunch. McFall’s Collision is sponsoring the event.

Transportation can be pre-arranged for anyone. Reservations are not required and The Barn’s doors are open to everyone.

During the Thanksgiving lunch, The Barn will have its donation table filled with hats, gloves, jackets, personal hygiene products, and more, as well as activities for the kids. Guests will have a real restaurant experience and be able to take home the items they need.

Last year, The Barn served Thanksgiving lunch to approximately 120 guests.

Jason Warda, owner of The Barn and founder of the Warda Foundation, said, one of the reasons he likes to host events such as this is, “To give back to the community that has been so supportive of us and our business all of these years and create a space for people to spend their holiday comfortably.”

Lunch will include all the Thanksgiving classics — turkey, ham, vegetables, mashed potatoes, desserts and more.

In addition to Warda and his family, this event is possible due to volunteers. Those wishing to volunteer a shift may sign up on The Barn’s SignUpGenius page. The link is found on The Barn’s Facebook page and with this story online at

To be a part of this tradition by donating, checks made payable to the Warda Foundation can be dropped off at The Barn. Food donations are being accepted. For more information on the Warda Foundation, go to

If you or someone you know needs free transportation to The Barn for the Thanksgiving lunch, email to coordinate arrangements.

During this Thanksgiving lunch, The Barn will be closed for normal business, including its bar, however, everyone is welcome to the Thanksgiving CommUNITY Lunch.
