Four presumptive positive cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Genesee County, according to the Genesee County Health Department.

Health Officer John McKellar made the announcement Friday, March 20.

      The patients include:

• A 15-year-old female

• A 22-year-old female

• A 35-year-old female

• A 54-year-old male

The 15-year-old is a high school student. Officials are working to determine if she may have exposed any other students. All four are in stable condition while they recover at home.

According to McKellar, one of the patients traveled outside of Michigan recently, but didn’t say where they live. They received their tests at outpatient clinics, such as a doctor’s office or urgent care center.

Health officials are tracing the patients' past travels around the state and are determining where other people may have been exposed.

Out of 114 coronavirus test kits sent to laboratories as of Thursday, March 19, 57 tested negative. Results for the rest are still pending. Three of the above positive cases were tested in private labs. The fourth was tested at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Laboratories, said McKellar.

He expects to see more cases in Michigan. So far, Michigan has confirmed 334 coronavirus cases and three deaths.
