Hurley Medical Center in Flint welcomed the first Genesee County baby of 2020 at 3:29 a.m. on Jan. 1. The baby boy weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and measured 20.5 inches.  Wyse McMillian was born to mother Masharry McMillian of Flint and joins four big sisters and two big brothers. Wyse’s delivery was quick and without incident, but mom wasn’t so lucky.  Shortly after delivery, she suffered a postpartum hemorrhage.  The labor and delivery team worked quickly to handle the situation and now mom is resting comfortably with her new son. “I was at the right hospital to handle the complications I had after delivery. I’ve received excellent care and Wyse is healthy and happy. I’m so grateful,” McMilian said. In celebration of having the first Genesee County baby of 2020, Wyse received a special “First Baby Basket” stuffed with clothing, swaddling blankets, bathing products, receiving blankets, diapers, wipes and a toy from the care team at Hurley.
