Ten cows and one horse died in a barn fire early Monday morning in Gaines Township. Fenton Township Fire Chief Ryan Volz said his department responded to the 911 call at 12:43 a.m., Monday, Jan. 13. A barn in the 11100 block of Hogan Road, just south of W. Ray Road, caught fire. Volz said the fire spread quickly and was brought under control at 1:35 a.m. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, however, it remains under investigation. Aside from Gaines Township and Fenton Township fire departments, Fenton and Linden cities as well as Mundy Township assisted through mutual aid.
