Dozens of area students were able to have one classic high school experience after COVID-19 forced many to cancel.

Approximately 80 students from Fenton, Lake Fenton, Linden, Lapeer and other school districts attended The Senior Pandemic Prom 2020: ‘20s Gatsby Gala at the Ponemah Lakeside Lodge on Thursday, July 23.

It was organized by Gracie Warda, Fenton High School graduate, and sponsored by The Warda Foundation.

“It went really well,” Gracie Warda said. “I’m really happy with how everything came together. It seemed like everyone had a really great time. Obviously, we were all super excited to actually get a prom, so I would say everyone had a great attitude. We also had support from the community, and they all had a great attitude as well.”

The event had a DJ, photographer, dinner, dancing and fireworks. Gracie Warda planned the event because she wanted to have this high school experience.
