The Fenton Fire Department is looking for a few interested men and women to become volunteer paid on-call firefighters.
Fire Chief Bob Cairnduff said his department is accepting applications for the position of volunteer paid on-call firefighter. To qualify, applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, current driver’s license, and the ability to pass a criminal background examination, medical evaluation and a physical ability test.
Applicants must live within the city limits or within a relatively close distance to the fire station. Those who are interested can apply online at the city website on the fire department page. The deadline to apply is March 3.
“We currently have three openings and we hope to have all interviews, back ground exams, ability testing, and medical testing completed by April,” Cairnduff said.
“This is a chance to join a group of dedicated professionals that function together in a team environment. Our firefighters live and raise families in the town they protect, so if you are looking for a truly rewarding and challenging experience, this is it. Apply and help make a difference in your community.”
