A number of local young people will be among a cast of 40 performers when the curtain rises on Disney’s “The Lion King Jr.!” March 24-26 at the Hartland Performing Arts Center.
Show times are Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 26 at 2:30 p.m.
Local performers include Summer Hoffman (adult Nala), Hunter Hoffman (young Simba) and Heidi Boyce (Lioness), all of Linden; Norah Stickel (Sarabi) and Rennie Stickel (chorus), both of Fenton.
These young actors have practiced three times per week for the past three months to perfect their characters, learn proper staging and vocal arrangements, according to Karen Ellis, who is co-director along with Mary Jo Bell. This production is styled like the Broadway depiction of “The Lion King” with the use of puppetry in acting performances.
Producer is Andrea Daguanno, assisted by Choreographer Allie Williams and Music Assistant Maureen Gray.
