If you are a subscriber of this newspaper living in the tri-county area, you’ve already discovered something is different about how your paper was delivered today — it was in your mailbox.

As we all deal with the changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, it became clear to us that shifting delivery of our weekend edition to the U.S. Mail is necessary.

We truly value and appreciate our newspaper carrier partners. The federal and state rules that still allow 1099 workers to file for unemployment insurance benefits factored into our timing of this change.

We also thank the U.S. Postal Service and their carriers, route managers and local postmasters, with whom we and the entire newspaper industry have enjoyed a long partnership. We appreciate their hard work and continued essential service throughout the pandemic.

Finally, we thank you, Dear Reader, for your support of local journalism. We will continue to provide the best local coverage and updates on COVID-19-related developments and their impacts on our local communities. We also remain dedicated to telling stories of friends, neighbors, nonprofits and businesses doing great things in the communities we love. Now, that news will be delivered right to your mailbox twice a week.

Thank you for reading the Tri-County Times.
