Fenton — The city of Fenton is repairing and updating the water main along Shiawassee Avenue, from Bent Oak to Adelaide Street, in advance of street repaving that is scheduled to begin in mid to late September.

The street portion of the project consists of curbing repairs, street storm drain repairs, crosswalk improvements and asphalt removal and replacement.

Both the water main and street work will be completed by mid-November.

Beginning Tuesday Sept. 8, Shiawassee Avenue will be reduced to one-way traffic eastbound from Rounds to Adelaide.  The westbound detour route is Adelaide north, to Silver Lake Road west, to Fenway Drive south to Owen Road.

Project updates and traffic routing advisories will be updated as the project moves forward.

Rohde Brothers Excavation, Inc. has been contacted to complete this project for a total cost of up to $393,730. Funding for this project will be provided from the Water Operating Fund.
