Be sure to mark your calendar for this year’s Taste in Fenton. The popular event will be held on the grounds of the Fenton Community & Cultural Center in downtown Fenton, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Summertime boasts the perfect time of year for people to go outside and indulge in what so many people love — food and drink.

The Taste in Fenton brings restaurants from the Fenton regional area together to serve some of the most delectable samplings of their menus to the public.

A free shuttle service for parking also allows Taste-goers easier access to the event, as well as the food, patrons can enjoy the beer and wine tent, live music and a pie-eating contest.

Children can play and have fun at the Kids Zone and take part in a doughnut-on-a-string eating contest.

Matt Sherrow, co-owner of Fenton Winery and Brewery and chair of Taste in Fenton, is excited about this year’s event.

Lee Mitchell, events coordinator for the Chamber said, “There are also a couple of exciting, new things for the event. We will have a 50/50 Raffle (sponsored by LaFontaine), to sponsor the Chamber’s scholarship program.

“And, our liquor license this year allows us to accommodate Relief & Resource Co. to share some of their signature cocktails for the first time.”
