In what ways do you feel that you’ve matured over the last year?

I’ve realized that I need to focus on making myself happier. I need to surround myself with the people and things that make me happy. I’ve thought a lot about who I am and I have realized how sometimes I can blow things out of proportion and I want to change that and become a better person.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I’m really proud of how far I’ve come in being confident in the person I am and where I’m supposed to be. Freshman year I was really quiet and timid, and I still am, however, through my years of high school I have found the group and the activities that make me the most confident and sure of myself and push me to be the best person that I can be.

If you had to give up your cell phone/internet for a weekend but able to do anything what would you choose?

I would go on a camping trip with friends and family where we would do a lot of outdoor stuff and just take time to be there in the moment, to let everything slow down for just a little bit. I’m actually planning to take a camping trip out west with my two best friends, Hallie Ludwig and Mallorie Johnson, and my mom for a senior trip. I’m really excited to do this because I really want to just spend time with my friends before we all go off to college. I’m gonna be 10 hours away up at Michigan Tech.

What superhero power would you like to have?

Since this question asks what superhero power and not what super power, I’m gonna nerd out a little. Now my first instinct would be to choose my favorite superhero, Spider-Man. However, if I think about it more, it would be cool to have Aquaman’s powers because then I could breathe and see in the dark underwater. But there are some cool superheroes out there that have awesome powers, like Night Crawler who can teleport anywhere including other dimensions, Phoenix who is so powerful she can destroy the universe, and a home favorite, Deadpool, who is quick witted and has regenerative abilities. But I think I have to go with Aquaman because swimming to the deepest parts of the ocean would be amazing and if you can breathe underwater, you can’t drown.

What do you like to do for fun?

Like any normal teen, I like to spend time on my phone and hang out with friends, but I also like a lot of other things. I love playing my flute and piccolo, dancing, skiing, drawing, painting, solving puzzles, and learning. I know there are a lot of kids that don’t like to learn outside of school, but I think learning new things and expanding my knowledge is a lot of fun. I’m kind of weird because I like a lot of creative things and I like a lot of logical things all at the same time, so I guess you could call me really well balanced.
