3-27_Our Future Gavin AmbroseC.jpg

Gavin Ambrose, 18, strives in basketball, his favorite sport, but also to learn as much as he can about business, and be as efficient as possible with his work. As a vegetarian, he hopes to see more dining-out options for him — even if he has to open a restaurant himself.

Do you want to attend college and where?

Yes, I want to attend college; I plan on attending Oakland University next year to major in business.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

The accomplishment I’m most proud of is receiving second team all-league for boys basketball this year. I eat, sleep, live and breathe basketball so it feels really good to be recognized for all my hard work.

What superhero power would you like to have?

The superhero power I would like to have would be superhuman speed, because it would allow me to save so much money on traveling and it would also offer me a lot more time throughout the day, due to me being able to complete tasks in the matter of seconds.

What have you leaned from your grandparents?

I learned that in order to be good at something, you must put in the time and effort into that something to be great at it.

What do you like to do for fun?

I like to play basketball for fun because it allows me to free my mind from everything else in the world and just focus on myself.

If you were president, what’s one thing that you would change?

If I was president I would do everything in my power to lower the cost of college, because if most high schools recommend that we need college to succeed then it seems silly for it to be so expensive. Especially to the point where students will be in debt for a big number of years afterwards.

What living person, other than a family member, do you most admire?

I most admire Gary Vaynerchuk in this world. I respect the way he became a million-dollar businessman from doing nothing but working. And I love the positive message he sends to today’s entrepreneurs like myself.

What is the best thing about your mom/dad?

The best thing about my parents is that they let me be free, they let me pursue what I feel is best for me with only providing help if I ask.

If you could open a restaurant what kind of restaurant would you open?

If I could open a restaurant, I would open an all-vegetarian diner, considering that I am a vegetarian myself. I feel like that lifestyle will only grow in the future, and at the moment there isn’t enough places that offer an only-vegetarian menu.

If you could time travel, where would you go?

I would go to the future of America so I can see what’s booming, so then I would know what to invent or what to do in present time to make the most money. I would also want to see what type of issues we will have in the future, so that I could do everything in my power to prevent any disasters we might have.
