Fenton wins Community Excellence Award

Fenton earned top honors as the Michigan Municipal League’s Region 1 Community Excellence Award (CEA) winner at the League’s 2014 Capital Conference in Lansing on March 18. The city won for its part in the restoration of the old fire hall into a restaurant. The city and Downtown Development Authority (DDA) worked with a nationally recognized restaurant group on the successful project. “It’s fantastic for our community to win this award,” said Fenton Mayor Sue Osborn. The Fenton project will now go on to compete against the other six regional winners for the statewide CEA title at the League’s Annual Convention Oct. 14-17 in Marquette.
