 There were 215 students in the Fenton High School Class of 1970, the first to graduate from the new high school building.

 The class flower was the black-eyed Susan. Class colors were gold and brown. And in keeping with the times, the class motto was “Peace, Love and Understanding.”

 Fenton did not declare a valedictorian and salutatorian in 1970. Instead, FHS recognized the top male and top female students. In 1970, The top male students were Bill Dery and Wes VonSeggern. Top females were Margaret Hook and Carol Frederickson.

 The Student Council president in 1970 was Tom Merrill. Class officers were Jim Schmelter, president; Dennis Ostyn, vice president; Debby Wagner, secretary and Linda Essenburg, treasurer.
