The deer you see wandering around in fields in the tri-county area now have a new health concern threatening their herd.
Greg Mundie, 41, of Linden caught this largemouth bass while fishing on Lake Ponemah on Saturday, May 9. The fish measured 20.5 inches and was 6.5 pounds.
Hayden Cassner, 10, of Holly bagged his first turkey on his grandpa’s farm in Holly. His grandpa said, “I think we got him hooked on hunting.”
Haley Ludwig, 11, a fifth-grade student at Linden Elementary, caught this 9 lb. 6 oz. walleye on Lake Erie on April 12. Haley landed her limit of four walleye, all weighing more than 6 pounds. Haley was fishing with her father, Joe Ludwig, and her brother, Joe Ludwig, Jr. Haley lives in Argentine Township.
Trevor Myott caught this 37.5-inch pike on Lobdell Lake Saturday, Jan. 24, while he was ice fishing.

Gavin Wells, 10, of Byron caught this 15 lb. King Salmon on Lake Michigan in Frankfort while vacationing with his family on Sunday, August 16.
Sean Bowles, 10, caught this 18-inch Rainbow Trout while fishing with minnows on his family’s property in Fenton. He was fishing with his father Greg and his grandfather Robert Bowles, who was visiting from Florida. Sean was very proud to have caught the largest of the four fish that day.
Isla Czarnecki, 5, of Fenton caught this bass on Aug. 30 while fishing on Tupper Lake. She caught it using her Shakespeare Princess pole.
Peyton Giovannini, 6, of Orlando, Florida caught this 5-pound, 21-inch bass at a lake in Livingston County while visiting with family in July. He caught three bass by himself and the total weight was 13 pounds. He used a plastic worm as bait.
