Fenton wins homecoming contest easily

 Fenton’s Mitch Shegos ended the first half with a 99-yard interception return for a TD, leading the Tigers to a 54-21 victory against Lapeer East on Homecoming.

 Fenton (4-1, 5-1) was tied 7-all, when Connor Davidson competed the first of his three TD passes, this one to Damon Thomas for a 23-yard score. Before the first quarter was done he also hit Shegos for a 66-yard score.

 The Tigers blew the game open in the second quarter with TD runs of 11 yards by Trent Grimes and 2 yards by Davidson. Fenton led 41-14 at halftime.

 Grimes scored just 31 seconds into the second half with an 84-yard TD run. About four minutes later, Davidson hit Grimes for an eight-yard TD reception. Scott Lukas opened the scoring with a nine-yard TD run just 50 seconds into the game.
