Holly — Holly is a playful community, and it has the sign and the crowds to back it up.
Event organizer Katy Hughes said that 500 people attended the second annual Community Play Day on Saturday in Crapo Park in Holly. The day of activities celebrated Holly being designated a Playful City by the KABOOM! Organization.
Even as the sun began to set on the busy Saturday, kids and adults were still there, using the park. They took part in the activities, which included foursquare, duck-duck-goose, noodle toss and sidewalk chalk.
“This is great, the kids had a great time,” said Katy Smades of Holly. “They had a blast.”
Hughes, a trustee for the Holly Outdoor Recreation Coalition said, “It was fabulous. It went even better than last year.” She said it was free, relaxed and fun. “People had a great time. We have so many things to offer, with all our local parks,” she said.
Around 30 organizations took part, including some downtown businesses.
